Similarities and Differences.<\/strong>. <strong>Gemeinsamkeiten und Unterschiede<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Modern societies are pluralistic \u2013 not only, but also, in a religious sense. The three great monotheistic religions of Judaism, Christianity and Islam in particular often occur within the same countries and live together. In addition, there are differences between groups within the respective religions. Classical ecumenism in the Christian domain is concerned with denominational divisions and seeks to overcome them. But Judaism, Islam and Buddhism also have internal divisions that are often fought out in bitter quarrels, as in Christianity. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>How can conflicts be overcome in the coexistence of different currents within a religion or different religions within an area? Is it possible to build a bridge between Christian ecumenical work and other intrareligious dialogues, such as within Islam? Are ecumenical models of unity and methods transferable to interreligious dialogues? <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.strasbourginstitute.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/cathedral.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.strasbourginstitute.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/cathedral-194x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5473\" title=\"cathedral\"\/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Special times require special measures: Due to the current pandemic situation, we are breaking new ground with this seminar and will therefore offer it as an online-event. The lectures of internationally renowned speakers, who belong to different denominations and religions, will therefore take place in digital form. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The core of our summer seminar is the exchange between participants from many parts of the world and intensive discussion of the lectures. To make this possible even under unusual conditions, we will offer alternative ways of working and dialogue formats.  The variety makes the seminar atmosphere. Especially in times of necessary distance, we would like to enable intensive conversation in order to appreciate ecumenism and interreligious dialogue for what they are: understanding among nations and building peace.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>More detailed information about the program and the technical requirements will be announced in time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Language: The conference language is English<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Die Konferenzsprache des Seminars ist Englisch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Costs<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Due to the pandemic situation, the Seminar 2021 will take place in online format only. The cost for online-participation is \u20ac 150,-   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Financial support may be granted throught the participants' home churches or other institutions.
