On 21–22 May 2019, the constituting meeting of the newly assembled Ecumenical Advisory Board took place in Vienna. Serving the Community of Protestant Churches in Europe (CPCE), this board advises on ecumenical questions, draws up proposals, and makes recommendations for possible steps in current dialogues conducted by the CPCE. The Institute is represented in the Commission; Prof. Dr. Jennifer Wasmuth and Prof. Dr. Stefan Dienstbeck both attended the meeting. The first working steps were agreed upon and new contacts were made. Topics included the 50th anniversary of the Leuenberg Agreement in 2023 and current ecumenical challenges. The Advisory Board will meet again in Berlin next year.
