Stolperstein - Stumbling Block

The neighborhood in which we live and work is highly marked by the history of Strasbourg between Germany and France, especially for the Jewish community: After the destruction of the synagogue by the Nazis in 1940, a new synagogue was built in the fifties, just a few steps away from the Institute. Accordingly, our surroundings is characterized by the presence of Jews and the Jewish community. Across from the Institute, a few weeks ago, a so-called "Stolperstein" was placed - in memory of Lucien Kahn, who was deported from the neighboring house in 1944 and murdered by the Nazis in a camp.

In our Newsletter we inform you about interesting events and other news from our Institute.

You can support the activities of the Institute and sponsor individual projects through our sponsoring association (Förderverein).
