“For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control“ (2 Tim 1,7)
The corona epidemic has hit us at the Institute for Ecumenical Research also, unexpectedly and with drastic consequences: Since rigid measures have been imposed in Strasbourg to contain the pandemic, we have had to temporarily close the Institute.
After weeks of intensive travel and planning, we are now faced with the need to cancel events and postpone projects. At the moment, the state is imposing severe restrictions on our movements: even going beyond our own doorstep must be justified.
In this situation we learn once again to appreciate what all our work is aimed at: an ecumenical breadth that makes community possible beyond borders, lived togetherness, exchange of ideas, and common prayer.
For us the present situation is therefore an incentive not to allow ourselves to be thrown back on our own four walls, but to use the time for research work: to better understand the ecumenical challenges of the present and to give answers to them.
In our „home office“ we are available at regular hours. We will provide timely information on current developments in our program of events.
In ecumenical fellowship
and with all good wishes – stay healthy and protected!
Yours,
Jennifer Wasmuth
