Presentation of Dr. Frank Zeeb

Dr. Frank Zeeb studied Protestant theology and ancient Oriental Studies. He received his doctorate from the Faculty of Philosophy in Münster in 2001 with a thesis on ancient Babylonian economic texts from northern Syria. After a period in parish ministry in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Württemberg, he was head of department for theology, worship, church and society in the department „Theology and Worldwide Church“ in the Church office in Stuttgart from 2009-2020. In addition to the Old Testament and linguistics, his main focus and research interests are liturgy and church history in the Upper German region.

Frank Zeeb is a member of the Liturgical Committee of the United Evangelical Church and delegate of the Evangelical Church in Germany  in „Arbeitsgemeinschaft Christlicher Kirchen in Deutschland“ (Working Group of Christian Churches in Germany) on the federal level. Since 2020 he has been working at the Institute for Ecumenical Research in Strasbourg. He focuses on the question of the content and design of the Holy Communion in the postmodern-media society.
